Friday and Saturday nights

An act plays in the bar room most Friday and Saturday evenings. Entry is free.

Regulars, touring acts and new Cornish musicians on their first night.

Some weekends the slot goes to karaoke or a DJ instead. When there is a band, a DJ can follow.

What to expect

The bar is open as normal until the music starts, usually around 9pm. The act plays two sets with a break. The room fills from around 8pm, earlier in summer and slightly later off-season. Entry is free, so the crowd is mixed: locals and holidaymakers, with families earlier in the evening. All ages welcome, over-18s only after 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Sit at the bar, take a sofa in the lounge or stand at the back. No stage and no barriers: the act plays in the middle of the crowd.

For musicians: how to get a booking

We're open to hearing from Cornwall-based artists, touring acts and bands looking for a Bude date on a wider run. To pitch:

• Email barthirtyfive@hotmail.com with the subject "Live Music Booking"
• Include two or three links to your music (Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud or YouTube)
• Say what you're after: a paid date, a support slot or a debut showcase
• Add your availability for the next three months

We pay musicians: no door-split-only deals. We supply the PA and can usually offer a guarantee to acts we know.

Sunday Sessions — paused for winter
