Bude's longest-running weekday happy hour
Every Monday through Friday, the two hours between six and eight at Bar Thirty Five are the best-value drinks window in Bude. Whether you're winding down after a day on the beach, kicking off a Friday properly, or just stopping in on the walk home from work, our happy hour gives you classic cocktails, Cornish ales, and serious wines at prices designed for regulars rather than tourists.
It's the same bar, the same staff, and the same atmosphere as the rest of the week — just two hours where the bill is gentler. We don't water down the cocktails, downgrade the gin, or shuffle you into a side room. The full menu, the courtyard, and the comfy lounges are all yours.

Happy hour pricing applies to selected items from each section of our drinks menu. Exact line-up rotates seasonally, but the usual suspects:

When & where
When: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 6pm and 8pm. (Not Saturdays, not Sundays — we keep weekends for the live music and the proper sit-down crowd.)
Where: Bar Thirty Five, 35 Belle Vue, Bude, Cornwall, EX23 8LF. We're 4 minutes' walk from Summerleaze Beach, just up from the canal in the heart of the town's main shopping triangle.
Bookings: Walk-in only. We don't take table reservations — turn up, find a spot in the lounge, the bar room, or the courtyard, and order at the bar.
Why our happy hour is different from most
Most "happy hours" in coastal towns are the cheap-pints-only kind, or limited to the seats-no-one-wants. Ours runs across the whole bar, includes the cocktail menu, and lasts a full two hours. Locals have built it into their weekly routine for nearly two decades — Friday at six is the unofficial start of the Bude weekend.
If you're staying in Bude on holiday, dropping in for happy hour is the cheapest way to try the cocktails before deciding which one you'll want again later in the week.
Frequently asked questions
Is happy hour really every weekday?
Yes — Monday to Friday inclusive, 6pm to 8pm. The only exceptions are private-hire days (rare) and bank holiday Mondays, which we'll always flag on our Instagram in advance.
Can I bring food?
Yes — we don't serve hot food, so you're welcome to bring a takeaway in or grab something from one of the chip shops nearby. We do have our own snack menu (sharing platters, nibbles).
Is it busy?
Friday 6–8pm is the peak — locals stack up at the bar from about 6:15. Earlier weekday slots are quieter and great if you want a table without queuing.
Is happy hour for over-18s only?
The whole venue is over-18s only. We operate Challenge 25, so please bring photo ID if you look anywhere near 25 or under.
